Many people have developed the idea that God's job is to pour blessings on them. Since the fall of man, the responsibility for our actions rests with us.

I once read a story about a woman who blamed God for the fact that she had she married a violent, abusive husband. She said, "How could I possibly have wound up married to a tyrant? Why has God forsaken me?"

God did not forsake her. He honored her freedom of choice, and that of her husband as well. If she had been seeking God's advice, she might have realized her future husband was not a godly man.
